Guiding For Everyone

Guide is synonymous with scout in the scouting movement around the world.

6th Woodrunners OSG is a local chapter of the Outdoor Service Guides. We are based in the east metro of the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area where most of our participating individuals and families are from the Ramsey County, Dakota County and Washington County.

We are not affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America or the Girl Scouts.

In OSG we believe everyone has an opportunity to participate in the scouting movement. We welcome youth and their families as they come to us, and we will do our best to make guiding and its activities accessible to every child or adult who wishes to join.  We welcome everyone, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion (or no religion), or other differentiating factors.  We believe that guiding is for everybody. We welcome those who have scouted a long time and those who have never tried guiding before joining us. Our aim is to promote DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) in our community, learning, teaching of outdoor skills, explore and enjoy the nature, and perform meaningful service in our community.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion

We want to provide a venue where community residents, youth and adults, of all genders could come together and developing understanding, building friendship and gaining mutual respect by working and learning together.
We welcome everyone, with diversity, equity and inclusion as our top mission.

Meaningful Service in the commnuity

We focus on developing self-confidence and leadership skills in young adults. We believe that the best kind of happiness comes from helping other people, and it’s our goal to help our participants grow into their best selves.

Explore the outdoor

We believe that the outdoor is the best place to physical, mental, and moral development. Our outdoor youth program is designed to provide children with the opportunity to explore nature and the outdoors in a fun and safe way. Through activities such as camping, hiking, and more, we teach kids the value of teamwork, respect for nature, and build strong relationships with their peers. We believe that these experiences will help shape the future of the youth and help them become responsible adults.

SKILLS

We strive to provide a unique outdoor experience for youth of all ages. Our program is characterized by a focus on self-reliance, confidence, and leadership. Through progressive responsibility and training in outdoor skills, we help our members explore and experience the natural world while developing important life skills. We believe in teaching the whole person, and we strive to provide an unforgettable experience for all our participants.
